Bio

I've spent most of my life messing around with computers. I've written more than my share of payroll programs (3 at last, and I hope final count). I've also written programs for control systems, embedded systems, scientific modelling, accounting, business, anomaly detection, and lots of other stuff.

I've programmed in a couple of dozen programming languages, including Algol, Algol-68, awk, many different flavors of Basic, C, C++, CASH (TRAC), csh, FORTRAN, Icon, Lex, Lisp, Macromedia Authorware, Objective-C, OPS-5, Pascal, PL/1, Postscript, RPG, sh, Simscript, Snobol, SQL, and Yacc, in addition to assembly languages for DG Nova, IBM S/3, IBM 1620, RCA 1802, Rockwell 6502, Intel 8080, Intel 8086, and PDP-8. I've also plugged boards for the IBM 407. I'm working on adding Java to my list.

I also have a wide variety of fairly narrow musical interests. Some musicians I like well enough that I'll present a concert if they come through Melbourne. My favorite artists include Artisan, Hot Soup, Da Vinci's Notebook, Les Barker, and the Blue Moon Cowgirls. Look here for pictures of concerts.

I'm currently a Ph.D. student in the Computer Sciences department at Florida Institute of Technology.
