RE-ASSESSING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE BUCKET PUMP - A SIMPLE WATER
LIFTING DEVICE FOR SMALL RURAL VILLAGES

People’s Participation.

As for previous years, the bucket pump installation program in
the forthcoming years will be done with people’s participation under
the supervision and direction of a qualified person. Villagers
will be requested to contribute by supplying local material
(sand, gravel, stones, bricks and cement, if possible) and labor
(see photo ). Two selected persons from the village will be asked to
volunteer for taking care of the bucket pump. They will receive a
box containing small tools as mentioned earlier.
