The Part One of this presentation is a brief glimpse of the main historical factors contributing to the conditions of the tribal people, Adivasi. Part Two includes some selected studies and government actions to improve their conditions. Most of the information was obtained from the aforementioned publications and acknowledgement to the authors is given at this time. Additional readings about the current status of these disadvantaged people is strongly suggested.
