The Adivasi- the tribal people of India


There are more than 400 Adivasi communities in India, representing about 8% of the population, corresponding to more than 70 millions of people. Most of them live an archaic, primitive life, as hunters and gatherers or rudimentary agriculturists; they generally use slash-and-burn methods of cultivation. In most cases they live a miserable life in small isolated hamlets and villages located on hills and in forests. One such village is seen below.


They are considered to be the poorest of the poor. My program concentrates all its efforts towards helping these extremely poor and neglected villages. (
