Codes of Honor

Department of Computer Sciences

Florida Institute of Technology

The Department of Computer Sciences at Florida Tech expects that anyone who uses our computers, networks and software will do so in a responsible manner. We have developed a ``code of honor'' to which students taking classes offered by the department will be held responsible.

The University has a policy on the Acceptable Use of Campus Information Technology Services. The scope of this policy is broad and applies not only to students taking classes offered by the department, but to everyone using the information technology resources provided by Florida Tech.

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has adopted a Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. This code applies specifically to Computer Science professionals; all students seeking a degree from the department must learn about it. There is also the IEEE Computer Society/ACM Software Engineering Code of Ethics and Professional Practice that students in the department must learn as well.
